ILLYRIA. Apollonia. 1st century BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 3.59 g, 5 h), Antiochos, son of Bakchides, and Xenon, son of Phillos, magistrates, circa 47-27. ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ ΤΟΥ ΒΑΚΧΙΔΟΥ Radiate, laureate and draped bust of Apollo to left, with quiver over his right shoulder. Rev. Α-Π-Ο-Λ / ΞЄΝⲰΝ - ΦΙΛΛΟΥ Three nymphs, hand in hand, dancing around the fire of the Nymphaeum. HGC 3.1, 8. Maier 136. SNG Copenhagen 404. Very rare. Beautifully toned and with a lovely reverse scene. Somewhat porous and with a thin flan crack, otherwise, good very fine.
